Lunch at the Piggly Wiggly
Our awesome tour guide, the amazing Tina, showed us the sights. There are endless places to dine and stay overnight . This was a brief day trip this time just to introduce us to the foothills of the Drakensburg mountains. Tina has a farm here in the Midlands, as do many South Africans. Incredible story of how Tina was bequeathed this property by a Zulu king in honor of her kindnesses in healing one of his people.
The Nelson Mandela Capture site is up in the Midlands. We just happened to be there on Human Rights Day, March 19th.

poof! There it is! The image of Nelson Mandela at the spot where he was captured and arrested for his involvement in the bombings resisting apartheid. He was emprisoned for 27 years. Six of those years were at Robbens Island, the prison university, across the bay from Cape Town.
